Lyndon B. Johnson (1908-1973)

Typed letter signed AS PRESIDENT

Typed letter signed “Lyndon B. Johnson”. 1p., 6.75 x 8.75 inch, Washington, 1965 September 15. White House stationery, addressed to Miss Sarah McClendon in Washington. In full: “Your were thoughtful to send me the Congressional Record remarks about Jack Valenti and your own laudatory comments about Bill Moyers. I am already aware of John Montgomery, his loyalty and his forthright support of what we are trying to do. Thank you for taking time out to tell me your views.” Mailing fold, bold signature, minor stains, else good condition. Rare, because about eight of ten signatures are done by LBJ’s secretary Bruce Thomas.
